We have a seriously long history of helping generous people give.  In 2010 our giving accounts, which see us distribute around £50million each year, were made available online.  A bit like internet banking, but for giving.  

Ready for the science bit? Traditionally, fundraising page websites have been built using an agency relationship between the website and the charity being supported.  Complicated?  Not really.   Behind the scenes each of these providers have asked their registered charities to sign an agreement, allowing them to handle donations and reclaim Gift Aid on their behalf.

Gift Aid is a scheme launched by the UK Government in 1990, allowing charities to reclaim the tax that you would have paid on the amount that you’re giving.
