"Wydale is a ‘thin place’ – somewhere I can meet with God and be restored".
As the Diocese of York's Retreat House, Wydale seeks to be a place where groups from churches and organisations as well as individuals can retreat in order to advance in the Kingdom of God.
In response to this challenging time some of the regular friends and family of Wydale have expressed a desire to help Wydale rise to the challenge of having lost all income from bookings since March 2020, and to be ready to rise to the challenges and needs of the post-Covid world. This page enables you make a donation, ensuring that Gift Aid is claimed and that gifts can be given anonymously.
We know that many people are struggling financially as a result of Covid-19 but we are also aware that others are better off as their outgoings have reduced. Whatever your position, we’re very grateful for the generosity of everyone – every gift will make a difference to the life of Wydale.
Thank you.
The Diocese of York is the Church of England from the coast to the A1 and from Middlesbrough to the Humber. We are a family of 589 churches and 125 schools in 443 parishes, committed to the praise of God through Jesus Christ and service to others.

I grew up near Wydale. My parents began their relationship at Wydale when they stayed for a young adults weekend in 1959! They were married for 59 years before Dad died in 2019. Their home, where mum still lives, is called Wydale.
