The Wye & Brook India Trust was founded in 1978, and its objectives are ‘the advancement of education in Delhi and those parts of India adjoining or adjacent to Delhi’. It is concerned specifically to maintain an educational fund for the benefit of parents in poor circumstances resident at or near Delhi to assist them to educate their children, in schools run by the Delhi Brotherhood Society. In 2011, donors, through WBIT, were sponsoring a total of 162 pupils in the Delhi Brotherhood schools enabling them to attend pre-school, primary and secondary school classes, and informal education. As of March 2012, there are 18 children awaiting sponsorship through WBIT. General donations also provide additional support for the educational needs and the potential developments in the schools, benefiting the children of the poorest parents.
