Val's 70+ for Tearfund

Story

I was 70 in June '20 and going strong-ish. During this year, I intend to raise funds for a great charity.

I've started a 5:2 diet where 2 days are vegetarian soup days. This is healthier for me, good for the environment (less meat eaten), and excellent for the charity (soup is cheap and money saved is donated). I really enjoy both cooking and eating a variety of soups!

As promoters of quality lighting, we're glad that Tearfund supports people to purchase solar-powered LED lights. This helps children to achieve their potential through night-time study and enables adults to work longer and increase their income.

We also like TF's 'Twin your Toilet' and 'Twin your Taps' schemes (crucial for Covid-19). September's donation went direct to TF’s new ‘Bin Twinning’ scheme.
