Atherstone Mayor; Ray Jarvis has made St.Mary's Building Repair project his mayoral charity for 2016/17. Ray recognises the size and importance of this project and is helping us with vital fund raising. There will be a number of fund raising events during 2016/17 endorsed by Ray as the church strives to raise £50,000 of match funding in order to qualify for a £250,000 grant award from Heritage Lottery Fund. St. Mary's has already gained a 1st round pass towards realising the £250K grant, which is needed to carry out urgent roof and rainwater goods repairs. This is an all important 1st stage in a much larger initiative aimed at making St.Mary's Church an asset to the whole community of Atherstone and surrounds, as the church building becomes a centre for concerts and heritage exhibitions as well as a home for a diverse range of community groups already active in the Town. Please give generously. Just £5 to sponsor a roof tile and have your name recorded in church records.
St Mary's Church Atherstone, Building Fund
Our vision for the building is to see it develop as a partnership of all sections and individuals across the town, working together to put Atherstone on the map, to showcase what a rich heritage we have, and what a great town this is, and work to enhance our community life, especially for the more disadvantaged and isolated members.
You can make a one-off donation or give monthly. If Giving regularly, then you can choose to support one of our specific projects or to donate towards the running of the church.
