Why are we raising money?

See below for the full story, but basically we plan to create a new entrance; transform the toilets; improve the kitchen with a hatch and pantry; and improve access upstairs. This will transform how church and community use our building.

This is our biggest project for more than 80 years. We expect it to cost towards £250,000 and through members' giving and grants we're getting closer.

We reckon a £5 donation is enough for 15 bricks; £10 for 20 roof tiles; £25 for a sq m of flooring; and £100 will pay for a sink or a toilet!

Whatever you can donate, we are grateful.

* If the project does not go ahead, money will be used in other ways on our building.

Stanley Road Baptist Church

There has been a church on Stanley Road for over a century after Christians decided to invest for future generations. Thousands of people have seen the difference that the church (first as Olivet Baptist and now as Stanley Road Baptist) has made in our community - one of the most deprived in Lancashire.

Now it is time to invest again.

We plan to create a new entrance, to the church and the hall; to transform the toilets and create a wet room; to improve the kitchen with a hatch and pantry; and to install a lift to the first floor. This project will transform how church and community groups use our building and we are confident a difference will be made to many more lives in the future.

This is the church's biggest project since the current church building was built in 1934. We expect it to cost a maximum of £250,000 and through members' support and grant funding we are well on the way. As we get closer to our financial target, we are grateful for your prayers and support. Thank you.
