Kerrie and Roger's Everesting Challenge
Closing date: 01 September 2021
Story
Everesting is a specific cycling challenge. We will cycle up and down the same hill until we reach 29029 feet, the height of Mount Everest (GULP)
We have chosen the Bishop’s Road, in Limavady, a steep 2.3 mile climb averaging 7.7% gradient.
We’ll ride up it 30 times covering just over 155 miles. The hardest Tour De France stage was in 1983 climbing 22000ft over a distance of 147 miles.
This challenge is completely nuts for recreational cyclists like us!!
Why?
The Big House provides hope and encouragement for young people from all areas of our community.
In NI mental illness affects around 1 in 6 of our children. Tragically we lose about 300 lives to suicide each year.
How can you help?
We'd be so grateful if you would consider supporting the work of the Big House who offer counselling, youth services and camps for young people. It will really help spur us toward the summit knowing this will support work with vulnerable young people in our local community. Thank you in anticipation!
