Help train 5 local women to make reusable sanitary pad kits so 500 girls can attend school each month during their period. Normally, girls have to stay home and miss up to one quarter of school time, often including vital end of year exams. They endure discomfort and shame.
This project will improve hygiene, enable the girls to go to school and boost their confidence, as well as empowering 5 local women to earn an income.
E3 partner, Word Alive, is running this project and will be trained by Glad Tidings Orphan Care, who already run a similar initiative so we know it works!
£2,100 will fund sewing machines, the training of 5 women, the materials needed and small stipends for the women so they earn an income. That's a cost of just £4.20 per girl for the year!
Donating with give.net is really easy and completely secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, please confirm that you would like to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation. This will add 25p to every £1 you give. Thanks for visiting!
E3’s vision is to bring transformation to communities affected by poverty and HIV and AIDS in Southern Africa. We work through local churches because they understand the needs in their communities and can respond in a sustainable way. We empower their leaders through training and financial support so they can bring hope in the midst of poverty and despair, through HIV support initiatives, microfinance to improve livelihoods and the Back to School programme for orphaned and vulnerable children.
In 2017, E3 partners directly supported over 39,000 people and impacted the lives of over 187,700 others.
Our 100% Action guarantee means every penny donated goes to the work on the ground because our trustees cover the organisational running costs of the charity.
