The average person in the UK uses 150 litres of water per day. How much would you use if you had to carry it from the next village?
For many isolated communities, one able-bodied person from each family must spend all day fetching water from a distant source, which is often polluted by dirt and disease.
As a consequence, cleanliness and hygeine suffer.
£450 - £500 will provide a bore well, giving a plentiful supply of clean water for a whole village. One person from each family will be released to earn extra income, or go to shcool.
An education is the key to escaping from the cycle of poverty.
Will you sponsor all, or part, of a well for us?
