What is RFK UK?
Royal Family Kids Camp UK is a camp for children who are or have been in social care. Often children who have been in care don't have the opportunity to go summer camps or on holiday. RFK camp is an opportunity to gain new skills, grow and overall have fun. This camp is provided to the children at no cost to them, in order to make this viable; volunteers fund-raise every year, doing all manner of different events.
I am looking to fund-raise £300.00 for RFK UK this year.
Myself and another fund-raising volunteer will be scaling Pen Y Fan on the 21/07/18. Neither of us particularly like hills so this will be daunting for us. To make matters worse, we have arranged a poll to determine what 'Sound of Music' character we shall be dressed as while climbing.
Current poll leader are Nuns
Thank you in advance for sponsoring me, I appreciate any donations however small.
In 2014, there were over 93,034 children in the looked after system, it is likely that most looked after children have been subject to abuse. RFK UK (hosted by Capital City Church Cardiff) stems from the American charity ‘Royal Family KIDS’ RFK run summer camps, tailor made for looked after children of primary school age, giving them one of the best weeks of their lives! A week where they get to be whoever they want to be, a week where they are safe, loved and fun and self-worth building is of top priority! This also provides a week of free respite for their fantastic Foster carers. RFK is funded completely on donations and grants, there are no charges to Foster families or Social Services! All staff are volunteers and many of them have professional qualifications relating to working with children and young people.
