Story
The EWAFE project supports abandoned and at risk children in the slums of Kampala. Ewafe means ‘Where We Belong’. The project offers emergency help and a safe place to live, while also working towards reuniting children with their relatives and reintegrating them with loving families where possible. Our model of Rescue, Rehabilitate, Reintegrate has an underlying ethos of finding family care for children.
The first children were rescued by the Ewafe Project in December 2014 and since then the project has Rescued 100 children and Reintegrated 60 with all children being provided with counselling, support and medical care and rehabilitation.
We are fundraising in order to expand this project to bring and keep more families together in Uganda. The funds raised can help us to expand the Ewafe home, support our social workers in searching for family members and, ultimately, to bring more children home.
Please donate to help us keep more children in Uganda safe. Thank you for your support !
