Food & Medical Assistance to Vulnerable Families in Lebanon

There seems to be no end in sight for Lebanon’s long downward spiral! The Lebanese Lira lost more than 90% of its value.  Prices of basic food & non-food items are skyrocketing! 78% of the population is living below poverty line as compared to 55% less than a year ago. 36% are in extreme poverty. The cost of drugs have risen sharply & are either out of stock or running low. Through this project [GBP 5,625/month] LSESD provides

1) 100 food insecure households with access to food to protect them against an increase in negative coping mechanisms [cutting down on medication, no. of meals taken, incurring debts to cover cost of food, sending their children to work, early marriages for young girls…]

2) needed medication to 100 vulnerable individuals with chronic &/or other serious medical conditions.
