The Overlooked
Closing date: 21 August 2022
Story
There are over 250,000 migrant domestic workers in Lebanon – mostly women – coming from African and Asian countries and working full time in private households. Many have been among the most vulnerable and marginalized, but the financial crisis, COVID-19 outbreak, and the recent Beirut blast have made their situation even more desperate.
Now that their countries’ airports are opening after COVID-19 lockdowns, their NUMBER ONE priority is to go back to their home countries. However, to do so they need to be able to purchase their one-way ticket home as well as pay for the PCR test.
With your support we can help them go back home safe and sound, while preserving their dignity.
