Story

Welcome to my give.net fundraising page.

It seems planning a wedding isn’t nearly enough to be getting on with, so I have decided this is the year to sign up for and attempt to complete a full length marathon!

This is a long overdue personal challenge to get up to fitness to open doors to longer endurance events but also to raise funds and awareness for a brilliant mental health charity - Kintsugi Hope.

On 7th July, at Hever Castle, I’ll be setting off to complete this goal in the fastest time my legs and mind will allow. It would be an amazing boost, not just on the day, but in the months of training leading up to it, to know that my running was helping to make a difference to such a great cause. Anything you can contribute towards this therefore, would be very much appreciated!

Donating with give.net is really easy and completely secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, please confirm that you would like to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation. This will add 25p to every £1 you give. Thanks!

Kintsugi Hope

‘Kintsugi’ means golden joinery in Japanese and is a technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold.  When the brokenness is repaired the object becomes more beautiful and unique than it was before.  Instead of hiding the scars it makes a feature of them.

Founded in 2017 by Diane and Patrick Regan, Kintsugi Hope exists to create safe and supportive spaces for people suffering from mental and emotional health challenges through:

Kintsugi Hope Groups – creating opportunities for people to share life, gain strength through friendship and learn how to grow and heal together.

Kintsugi Hope Talks – producing resources on subjects such as anger, shame, anxiety, perfectionism and depression.

Kintsugi Hope Projects – supporting people whose mental and emotional health has been affected by conflict, trauma and poverty.

Kintsugi Hope Advocacy – Working to elevate the debate on issues causing suffering with mental and emotional health, and pointing to solutions with long-term strategic change.
