Story

Hi all!

As many of you already know me and Jodie lost our daughter, Evelyn, in Oct 2016.

We have already done a fair bit of fundraising in her memory but I’m taking it to the next level this year in running the London Marathon.

I have decided to try and raise money for a company called Reading Lifeline (The Mustard Tree). After we lost Evelyn we were lucky enough to be put in contact with these people who offer counselling and support to those affected by infertility or baby loss during pregnancy or soon after birth.

The support and advice they offered us as individuals and as a family was amazing. We didn’t have to pay for this service and they rely solely on donations and grants made to them. So if we were able to give back to them as a thank you or be able to help another family in need then that’s all I can hope for.

Please don’t feel like you have to donate a large amount, just anything you can spare will greatly help this charity.

Thank you for taking the time to read!

Lee

Mustard Tree Foundation Reading, Reading Lifeline

The Mustard Tree's simple aim is to be a voice for the unheard in local communities across Reading and the surrounding area. We do this by identifying, incubating and resourcing local faith-based social action projects that address unmet or overlooked needs, and championing change in strategic contexts. We currently have four projects:

The Rahab Project - Identifying, supporting and empowering anyone who is affected by exploitation.

Reading Lifeline - Counselling and support for those affected by infertility or baby loss during pregnancy or soon after birth.

Engage Befriending - Reconnecting isolated older people with their community through regular visits from a befriender.

Starting Point – Helping NEET young adults to access opportunities through mentoring and work experience.

We have been supporting our community for over 13 years, acting as a hub for 10 different projects, which cumulatively have impacted the lives of over 2,000 people and mobilised over 250 local volunteers.
