‘Kintsugi’ means golden joinery in Japanese and is a technique for repairing pottery with seams of gold. When the brokenness is repaired the object becomes more beautiful and unique than it was before. Instead of hiding the scars it makes a feature of them.
Founded in 2017 by Diane and Patrick Regan, Kintsugi Hope exists to create safe and supportive spaces for people suffering from mental and emotional health challenges through:
Kintsugi Hope Groups – creating opportunities for people to share life, gain strength through friendship and learn how to grow and heal together.
Kintsugi Hope Talks – producing resources on subjects such as anger, shame, anxiety, perfectionism and depression.
Kintsugi Hope Projects – supporting people whose mental and emotional health has been affected by conflict, trauma and poverty.
Kintsugi Hope Advocacy – Working to elevate the debate on issues causing suffering with mental and emotional health, and pointing to solutions with long-term strategic change.
