Story

I am writing with a special request for your support in a fund raising project.

On Sunday 28 May, I will be running in the Edinburgh marathon to raise funds for ECRAD.

ECRAD (Empowerment, Counselling, Relief, And Development) is a Scottish charity which has a mission to provide a programme of support to alleviate suffering and deprivation in Malawi brought about by the HIV/Aids virus. ECRAD funds a daily feeding programme of one nutritious meal for up to 400 orphans at the Zioya Orphan Centre, Ntcheu, Malawi.

I will be visiting the ECRAD site in Malawi in July as part of a volunteer group from Scotland. This will be a chance to see the positive impact that our support will have on the local community. All the funds that I raise from my run will go directly to ECRAD, for the benefit of those in need.

I realise that you probably get many demands from charities for help. Even a small donation will be of value to the children in Malawi.

The site at the link below will allow you to sponsor and claim gift aid.

Empowerment Counselling Relief & Development

The main areas of our charitable activity involve raising funds for the work of ECRAD in Malawi. ECRAD Malawi activities concentrate on services which promote Empowerment of local people, Counseling, Relief and Development. ECRAD is a Christian charity and shares the Christian Gospel in word and deed, working in Malawi with orphans, street children and people whose lives have been adversely affected by HIV/AIDS.
