Story
Welcome to the Watsan Uganda Bwanga Hill Stewardship fundraising page.
Bwanga Hill, 35 miles from Rukungiri, is a community of 876 people, mainly pupils and staff of a secondary school, and a kindergarten, next to Bwanga church.
At the school, there is only one small rainwater harvesting tank, which quickly empties. Pupils must collect water from the distant crowded spring, or even from a stream which is shared with animals, and for washing cars, around 800m away. Pupils share one toilet between every 76 pupils.
Our project is an integrated water supply, sanitation, and education intervention, incorporating a reconstructed spring; three rainwater harvesting tanks; repair of a faulty borehole; 15 new toilets; and an accompanying health and hygiene education programme.
Donating with Stewardship is really easy and completely secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, please confirm that you would like to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation. This will add 25p to every £1 you give. Thank you.
