Resourcing one woman so she can resource others.
Closing date: 05 November 2021
Story
Alejandra is a Colombian, 22 year old. Aleja's mother was raped, aged 13, and made homeless as a result. Aged 4, Aleja was found alone in Bogota and taken to a children's home. Aged 9, she was adopted, however, her parents were killed 2 years later and Aleja was abused by their relative. He was imprisoned and Aleja was returned to the children's home. Aged 12, she met her mum but 4 months later her mother was murdered by her step father.
Aleja is a hard worker but the huge influx of Venezuelan refugees has reduced wages and Aleja can't afford to pay for university. The TOTAL cost of a 4 year language degree, including some living costs, is approx. £14,000.
This will enable Aleja to work as a teacher or in an embassy. Her life experience will give her a unique perspective to encourage positive change.
Can you help so Aleja can pass your gift on to others through her new found skills?
