ALMA (Angola London Mozambique Association) is a thriving link partnership with the Anglican Churches in Angola and Mozambique.
After the two recent cyclones, we want to raise THE SPIRIT of the Mozambican church by asking every London parish to take a special Pentecost collection to help re-build churches, church schools & church housing.
This work is not the remit of the NGO’s and International Agencies currently doing post Cyclone work. It is, however, a core aspect of ALMA:
‘Being church together’ is the DNA of the ALMA partnership.
There are many damaged and destroyed churches in Mozambique - from city churches like St Jorge’s Beira to churches in the small outlying villages. The loss of these churches compromises all ministry, mission and community outreach throughout the country. Now is a good time for London parishes to take a collection and consider becoming link parishes to partner and journey with the vibrant, resourceful but suffering Mozambican church.
We share a vision of a Church for London that is Christ-centred and outward looking. We seek to be more confident in speaking and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, more compassionate in serving communities with the love of God the Father and more creative in reaching new people and places in the power of the Spirit.
