Story

Coronavirus has impacted each and every one of us in innumerable ways. However, many of us are blessed that we can look to the the established systems of community and government to provide help to those who need it most. The situation is far more distressing in Southwest Uganda where AICM is working.

Vulnerable groups of tribespeople and rural communities in abject poverty have become even more isolated as a result of the nationwide lockdown. Coronavirus infection is a clear and present danger to these groups, but the real danger to is far more terrifying: starvation.

AICM are continuing to provide resources, pastoral support and education to these groups, but our activities have been limited by government legislation, and we fear for the young and old who we have had difficulty reaching. We are therefore working on an Emergency Relief and Recovery Fund to ensure we can work to the fullest effect to support these groups.

Please donate to help them!

Friends of The African International Christian Ministry

Friends of AICM raises funds for African International Christian Ministry which supports the rural poor in southern Uganda.

Together we provide primary education in highland areas, engage in rural community development through training in agriculture, in flood and erosion prevention, in nutrition, hygiene and child care, through health initiatives (such as ante-natal training, HIV testing, immunisation and de-worming) and by setting up community savings and loan schemes.

Through sponsorship we arrange secondary education for vulnerable children who would otherwise lack protection, care, food and clothes as well as an education.

AICM tackles superstition and witchcraft, anti-social behaviour, promiscuity and crime through evangelism which also provides people whose traditional way of life has been disrupted with the moral and ethical foundation of Christianity.
