Waterside Foodbank, provides 3 days of basic food items to individuals and families who find theselves in crisis. Food is accessed by a voucher obtained from one of the many professional agencies who hold the vouchers. The voucher can then be brought to the Foodbank in Blackfield and redeemed for food. Clients can access up to 4 vouchers at any one time to help them over their crisis. They can also be signposted to other agencies who may be able to help.
Currently under the Covid 19 restrictions we are offering a delivery only service.
Clients currently access an on-line voucher system through the Citizen's Advice help line and other agencies and the food is delivered to their doorstep by our new team of delivery drivers. A later subsequent telephone call is made to the client to signpost them to any other help that they may require.
The Project is under the umbrella of Waterside Ecumenical Projects set up by the local Christian Churches.
