Rotherham Foodbank helps local families to eat properly through a crisis. People are identified as in genuine need of our help by professionals in the various agencies they attend during their crisis, which we have supplied with our secure vouchers. They are referred on to us with a voucher. Everyone we see is in crisis due to such things as job-loss, falling incomes, sudden illness, benefit-delays and reductions. We aim to ensure that folk are able to get quickly and safely through periods of crisis in good health and with a sense of wellbeing; and can move on to improved family-life that benefits the greater community. What we do helps to eradicate child poverty in Rotherham. We collect and store donated items of nutritious, non-perishable food, which are then passed to referrals. Further support is available to complement this. The Trussell Trust monitors us.
