Partner profile
The Eagle Project (Associação Águia), a registered charity in Brazil, is run by Cally Magalhães and The Eagle Project team who since 1999 have been rescuing young people from the streets of Sao Paulo, one of the largest and most violent cities in the world. Their focus is now in the youth prisons helping 15-19 year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds where extreme poverty, abuse, drugs, illiteracy and violence are a normal part of their lives. The team lead workshops in psychodrama therapy based on the principles of Restorative Justice and individual counselling with groups of adolescents who are preparing for their release from the youth prison.
The team then helps them and their families for up to two years after their release helping them finish school, do training courses and find employment. This work has now expanded to working with women in prison. The work of The Eagle Project is funded by donations and every penny makes a difference. Thank you!
