ELT Baptist Church is passionately committed to serving its local community in Tower Hamlets, and reaching out with the good news about Jesus.
We employ 3 youth workers (1 full-time, 2 part-time) who reach 100 young people each week through youth clubs and schools work. At Christmas and Easter they share the gospel with over 1000 mainly Muslim school students, in partnership with Crossteach.
We run English classes for adults from the Bengali, Somali and Eastern European communities.
We also run a winter night shelter for homeless people in partnership with GrowTH.
During the two lockdowns we moved our Sunday morning service on-line, and ran our small groups and almost all our youth & childrens' clubs via Zoom.
At Easter Crossteach produced a digital Easter Experience for Secondary School students in Tower Hamlets, and we ran an Easter Bake-Off on Zoom for families in our area, and a "Big Questions" event for local Muslims.
